A message from 2008 Strong Kids Campaign Chairman, Mike Broski

"The YMCA has a rich history and offers a vibrant new beginning to many kids and families living in the greater Rockford area. That's why I support the YMCA and I hope you join me by making a pledge to this year's Strong Kids Campaign."

The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign Support these programs and services:

• Big Brothers Big Sisters – one-to-one mentoring
• Black/Hispanic Achievers – inspiring minority youth to excel
• Camp Winnebago – engage youth daily in productive fun and educational activities
• Community Outreach – largest provider of school-age child care in Winnebago County, community youth sports, teen leadership development and tutoring programs.

What your donation can do:

• $1000 will successfully sustain a match between a qualified caring volunteer and a child in need for one year.
• $250 will provide an activity for the 40+ kids from single-parent households currently on the waiting list.
• $300 will support one high school student in the BA/HA Achievers program through the school year.
• $500 allows one minority high school student to learn about continuing his or her education by participation in the week-long college tour.
• $500 allows two student groups to attend a one-day environmental education program at Camp Winnebago.
• $1,200 helps 10 teenagers develop leadership skills in the Leaders in Training program.
• $100 provides two children with one week of after-school child care that emphasize positive character values.
• $450 enables one team of kids to build skills and learn the importance of team work through a youth sports program.

Donor Recognition:

All donations to the YMCA are greatly appreciated and will be acknowledged with a personalized thank you from the campaign leadership.

Donations of $5,000 and up per year for five years are recognized in the YMCA annual report, on the donor recognition displays, banner display at all YMCA facilities and an invitation to the Y's annual donor recognition event.

Donations of $1,000 to $4,999 are recognized in the YMCA annual report, on the donor recognition display, banner display at YMCA branch facilities, and an invitation to the Y's annual donor recognition event.

Donations of $1,000 to $1,499 are recognized in the YMCA annual report, on the donor recognition display, banner display at one of the YMCA branch facilities and an invitation to the Y's annual donor recognition event.
