Adaptive Aquatics (7 to 13 yrs)
The YMCA is a great place to develop physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being through the Adaptive aquatic program. This program is for individuals of all abilities, including those with visual and hearing impairments, physical limitations, Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD, and PDD/Autism.
Sessions will focus on: 1) Pop-up breathing 2) Flutter kicking 3) Front & back floats 4) Jumping in 5) Freestyle arms

Teen Lessons (13 to 17 yrs)
Teen lessons are offered for beginner to advanced levels. All levels taught at the same time.

The YMCA’s Youth Swim Program is for youth 6 years or older. The ultimate goal of Y lessons is to develop the whole person — physically, mentally, and spiritually. Youth courses are student-centered and designed to respect the individuality of each participant while encouraging their ability.

Stingrays Swim Team
Team sports encourage social interaction, sportsmanship, and self-discipline. For youth through 21 years, this competitive swim team provides an opportunity to gain strength, build endurance, and experience the thrill of competition. All team members participate in training and competition. Minimum swimming skills required to join.

Swim Classes 16 yrs and Older
Participants 16 and older work in small groups with an instructor to meet individual goals for water comfort and skill development. Group interaction encourages personal growth, skill development, and fun.

Competitive Swim Lessons
These lessons are designed as a workout for advanced swimmers to improve their stroke technique and to increase endurance. Focus will be on fine tuning the four competitive strokes, turns, starts, and endurance.

Lifeguard Certification
YMCA lifeguarding courses are offered in the winter and spring. Come prepared to be in the water each class day. Course includes training in CPR for the professional rescuer and first aid requirements. There is a precourse water test that includes swimming 500 yards and treading water for at least two minutes.
