LIVESTRONG at the YMCA

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a 12-week small group exercise and support program open to any adult cancer survivor at no charge.  Program participants and their immediate families have access to both the I.D. Pennock Family YMCA and the Northeast Family YMCA facilities during the 12 week class session.  When someone other than a family member serves as the survivor's care giver, they too are eligible for these benefits.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care
to safely achieve their goals to build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance and improve confidence and self-esteem. By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is helping survivors move beyond cancer in spirit, mind and body.

Daytime class held Monday and Wednesday 1-2:15pm
at the Northeast Family YMCA for 12 weeks starting June 3.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for this class and
limited openings exist.  If you are interested in getting started,

As a part of their commitment to the community and to healthy living, Swedish American recently granted the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program a $15,000 donation to support its work with cancer survivors during 2013.

The program is offered free of charge to participants, and this donation gives the Y
the financial support needed to help cancer survivors who want to gain or reclaim
their health, well-being, and full recovery.

The YMCA of Rock River Valley and Swedish American have a long history of partnership, and also share a mission of impacting our community's health and well-being.
