Adventure Race
Release of Liability

Rock…the Race Adventure Race on Saturday, September 20, 2008 .  I understand that I will be traveling by instructions provided by race officials, but under my personal power, throughout the duration of this event.

I am aware of the following:

A.         Participants are expected to follow instructions during the event throughout the course of the race and remain part of their team, unless given specific instructions otherwise.

B.         Participants are expected to participate in all activities and follow instructions of race organizers.

C.        Participants may participate in activities which could cause clothing to become wet, dirty, and beyond cleaning and/or repair.

D.                 Participants may participate in activities, coming in contact with wet, slick, and or dirty surface.       
             These conditions can lead to sudden, unexpected falls causing harm to myself.

E.                 Participants may participate in climbing activities and accept the risk inherent in these activities.

I understand the importance of following directions and safety procedures which will be outlined by race
officials prior to the event.

I understand that I am not required to participate in this activity, but desire to do so, despite the possible risks.  I recognize that by participating in this activity, as with any activity involving motor vehicle transportation, I may risk personal injury.  I hereby attest and verify that I have been advised of the potential risks, that I have full knowledge of the risks involved in this activity, and that I assume any expenses that may be incurred in the event of an accident, illness, or other incapacity.

In consideration of being granted the opportunity to participate in this activity, I for myself, my executors, administrators and assigns, do hereby release and forever discharge the Winnebago County Forest Preserve, Rockford Park District, Rock Cut State Park, Young Men’s Christian Association of Rockford, IL, its Board of Directors, employees and volunteers who arranged, advised, and supervised travel, scheduling, or any other function of this activity from all claims of damages, demands, and any actions whatsoever, arising out of my participation in this activity.
