GROUP INTERVIEWS

We would llike to invite you to a group interview.  These interviews will be held at both the ID Pennock Family YMCA and the Northeast Family YMCA.   You may choose either location for these interviews.

Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

Chief Financial Officer

Position: As a key member of the executive management team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the President and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the YMCA Organization. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all finance-related activities of the Y.  This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance, and private and institutional financing.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership in the development of continuous evaluation of short- and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  2. Ensure credibility of finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.
  3. Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the organization.
  4. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.
  5. Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions.
  6. Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  7. Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, and consolidation and reporting to the Association.
  8. Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
  9. Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. BS in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA highly desirable.
  2. 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles.

  1. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations is essential.
  2. Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  3. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.

 

Other Skills & Abilities: PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) and strong working knowledge of accounting systems and Excel is preferred.

**Immediate needs will include a change in accounting software, systems, and processes to fit the recent change in corporate culture for the YMCA.  The YMCA has recently hired a new CEO & President; therefore the CFO will need to partner with the CEO in the many changes and corporate restructuring initiatives.

 

POSITION OPPORTUNITY DETAILS:

Status:  Exempt Full Time Salaried Position:  $65,000 to $80,000 Annually

Vacation, retirement contribution, sick leave, and wellness membership.

DIRECT REPORTS & SUPPORT

The CFO will have a team of support staff to assist in meeting the overall goals of the department.  The team will be as follows:

  1. Controller (Currently the VP of Finance)

  2. Accounts Receivable Manager

  3. Accounts Payable Manager

  4. Part-time staff as needed

Maintenance Technicians

Responsible for performing high-level response to system and machine issues, general maintenance such as electric, plumbing, janitorial and other facility needs at the ID Pennock YMCA.  Although these positions may require specialized skills, applicants must also have proven experience working as a team and an ability to perform multiple tasks outside their specialty to maintain a clean, functioning facility for members at all times.   Various shifts available.  Full-time hourly, approximately 35-40 hours per week, $9.25-$11.25 per hour (based on specialties, certifications, etc.) and benefits.  Regular or rotating weekend hours required.

Maintenance Custodians

The Maintenance Custodians will perform janitorial, general maintenance, facility supervision, special projects and member service functions. Must have excellent communication skills and proven experience working both alone and as a team to accomplish results.  This position is part-time with regular or rotating weekend hours required.

Kids Adventure Staff

Staff will work with children infant to 9 years of age in our newly created and innovative Kids Adventure Centers at both the ID Pennock YMCA and the Northeast YMCA.  Through interactive fun play and age appropriate learning and discovery concepts, children will receive high-quality “free” programming utilizing play areas and activity centers.  Staff will be expected to provide a monthly schedule of events, learning concepts, activities and fun experiences for these age groups.  Various part-time shifts available, approximately 15-25 hours per week, $8.25-$9.50 per hour.  Regular or rotating weekend hours required.
